About
These wire cutters are able to cut only up to 15 AWG (1.5 mm) maximum diameter copper wire. Cutting any material that is harder, or anything larger diameter, destroys the blades. Using them for prying will also destroy them.
After the blades are damaged, the wire cutters are no longer usable and need replacement.
This 'Plato 170S Extra-Strong Cutter' was bought from Digikey this month - it had a lifespan of 2 weeks at Makerspace.
Thanks in advance to whomever is responsible for the misuse of this tool for replacing it. Replacement cost is $12.86 + $8 shipping from Digikey: https://www.digikey.ca/en/products/detail/techspray/170S/8593021
